Community Benefits from Chieftain

South Africa Scholarships.

Chieftain is sponsoring 10 previously disadvantaged individuals to work their way through University in SA.

Chieftain is also sponsoring the building of new homes for previously disadvantaged individuals in South Africa. Chieftain donates a percentage of the profits from each of it South African projects towards the provisions of these homes.

We believes that business has a responsibility to the youth of the world, these are after all our future leaders. Chieftain is granting a number of bursaries a year to financially disadvantaged children wishing to educate themselves further, 2006 being the first year that students are the beneficiaries of bursaries.

Gabriel Maluleka

Gabriel Maluleka is a second year student at Unisa, having just completed his first year National Diploma In Civil Engineering. Gabriel enrolled at Damelin in 1999 & completed various computer courses while working full time.

Lindiwe Losaba is enrolling at the University of
The Free State in 2006. She plans to complete her Nursing Diploma where after she would like to study further in medicine and eventually qualify as a medical Doctor.
Lindiwe is married to Pastor Daniel who recently started an outreach church in Bloemfontein in the Free State.

Given Sebothoma is a second year student, Diploma In Building Science at Tshwane University Of Technology, Polokwane Campus. Given is currently employed by the department Of local Government and Housing.

Bóthar

Chieftain contributes to Bóthar who specialize in establishing families in micro farming units by giving them the living gift of a farm animal. However, this gift is only given as the last stage of a long and important process

During the conflict in 1999, more than 900,000 people were forced to flee their homeland, seeking refuge in Albania and other neighbouring countries. Bóthar, with project partners Heifer International, initiated the first Kosovo project immediately after the war, focusing on extensive agricultural and animal husbandry training, but it wasn't easy at first. Chieftain continued support allow more families in Kosovo, and other project countries, a chance to transform their lives.
